Happy Halloween ’19!

High school sweethearts celebrate Halloween overseas

In our 9+ years together, my hubby and I have only celebrated three Halloweens together due to being long distance or living overseas.

Our first was while we were still in high school; the second was during our college years (who can guess what our costume was!? Comment below!), and the last time was while we were overseas in a country that didn’t celebrate it.

That last time, we had our own Halloween party with just the two of us: we watched Beetlejuice (because I don’t like scary movies) and ate the only Halloween candy I could find- a “pizza” of gummy candies shaped like spiders, bugs and other gross things.

Every year I see all the cute photos of couples going to the pumpkin patch, and wish we could too, but obviously we can’t while we’re long distance or overseas.
However, this gives me something to look forward to in our future together.

Eventually we will be done traveling and we will be together all the time.
We all need to enjoy what we have now, whether that be spending time with family, exploring a new location, or working on yourself.

Do you think you know what our costume was? Comment below!

I help women become strong, not skinny. I'm married to my high school sweetheart; we were in a long distance relationship for 8 years before getting married, and even now are still occasionally in a long distance relationship.
