My Easy, Go-to Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothie

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m obsessed with fruit smoothies! I love fruit & you can throw practically anything into them (including hidden nutrients), so they’re a win-win!

This is my favorite fruit smoothie recipe because it’s so versatile!

Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothie

Serves 1-2 people

1 banana (I like it best when they’re just starting to get brown speckles but really any ripeness works)

Couple handfuls fresh or frozen strawberries (if you use frozen and a hand blender like I need to while overseas, I recommend running them under warm water for a minute before adding them to the bowl- it’ll be a lot easier to blend!)

Superfood powder: one scoop (strawberry or vanilla flavor) (contact me to place your order!)

Liquid: I add just enough to blend it easily and achieve the consistency I want.

For a creamier texture, use plain/unsweetened almond milk or nonfat milk.

For a refreshing/citrus smoothie, use orange or pineapple juice.

To use up what’s in the fridge, use the juice that’s been in there too long (that’s what I did this morning)!

Optional: (but trust me, you won’t taste them!)

~1.5 handfuls of fresh spinach (you can use frozen but I’d use less since it’s more dense and- in my opinion- more potent when it isn’t fresh)

Oats

Flaxseed

Hemp hearts

Mix everything in your blender until smooth, and enjoy. I recommend eating it right away, but if you want to prepare it in advance, store it in a shaker bottle in the fridge (I wouldn’t for longer than 1 day) so you can shake it up again before drinking.

Don’t be afraid to experiment and throw in any other fruit that needs to be eaten (oranges, apples, etc.)!

ALSO you can throw the majority of these ingredients in a ziploc bag and freeze it to have smoothie packets ready anytime!
